My Practice

Writing has always been my refuge and strength—starting with skits, plays, and poems in my school years. This craft was initially a medium to express emotions too complex to articulate as I was growing up. By the time I was in college, I had begun contributing to the college magazine, initially with satirical pieces, which gradually evolved into more nuanced expressions of my artistic voice.

Poetry, which had been a flickering interest, turned into a profound commitment.  I found solace in sharing my verses with intimate audiences. The urge to create a more immersive experience led me to experiment with music and spoken word performance. This drove me to experiment by infusing my poetry with elements across electronic funk and acoustic folk music, creating a unique blend that enriched the narrative and engagement of my performances. Soon, my artistic ambitions expanded to include songwriting, collaborating with indie musicians and even venturing into writing for films.

My current project is perhaps my most ambitious yet—reviving Dastangoi, the ancient art of storytelling. This endeavor isn't just about bringing a forgotten art form back to life; it's about connecting with history, enriching the present, and offering a new perspective to contemporary audiences
